Welcome to a new Textured Mandala Art – Mixed Media Paint Pouring art lesson. In this abstract art tutorial, let’s combine paint pouring and mandala art. So, it’s going to be quite a mixed media project. I want to use my rings as a separation between the flow part of the fluid painting, the acrylic pouring part, and the textured stencil design. 

I want to do the paint pouring part first, let it dry, and then apply a textured mandala with the use of a stencil. This acrylic pouring technique is super fun. I’m working on 18 by 24 inches cradled wood panel this time, and this abstract painting it’s going to be a vertical orientation. But as I’m working on it, I’m going to keep it landscape just so it’s easier for me to work.

I love how my textured mandala art design turned out. I am so happy that I used not just gold in each mandala of these but also the same colors – the turquoise, the iridescent turquoise, and primary magenta as I used in my base. By the way, I also used a little bit of gold inside of my base. So when there is this overlap of the colors I think the composition of this abstract artwork looks just a lot more cohesive. The stencils – the mandalas they dried so bright, so beautiful. I just love using these colors, especially, iridescent gold. I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you!
