Welcome to a new Stunning Chain Pull Technique Butterfly Acrylic Pouring video tutorial. But this time let’s make this pour painting a little different. So, instead of going for a front symmetrical view of the butterfly I want to go more like a side view painting. I think that should make all abstract painting look a lot more dynamic. So let’s see how that’s going to work.
Recipe for this pour painting technique: all paint today is mixed with Floetrol and water. And, honestly, I think this super simple mixture works really well with the chain pull technique.

The chain pull acrylic pouring is so much fun and my biggest advice to you: if you also decide to try this butterfly technique, make sure your base layer is very-very thin. Trust me, it makes all the difference. This time I’m working on a 12 by 12 inches cradled wood panel. I want to go for a light background for this fluid painting. “Peace” is my secret message for this abstract butterfly. So, I want to go for a sky blue background, and this is why I’m going to add light blue with white.
I want this artwork to have a really gentle and airy look. For my butterfly, I kind of want to go for a side view. So, first I’m going to add two back wings and then I’ll work on the front. I’m going to use black to outline the butterfly. And without further ado let’s get started.
Sometimes I feel like I’m just such a perfectionist where it’s totally unnecessary. It’s better to do than not to do! I have to say I love how this abstract butterfly turned out. It really stands out against this sky blue background. It’s not really perfect in terms of the anatomy of butterflies. I think it would look slightly different if I looked at it from another angle, but you know what? Perfection is boring. We’re doing some abstract art here so it does not need to be completely precise. I really like this side view pour painting. It is truly dynamic and so beautiful!
