RAINBOW on Black and White

Fluid Art

Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby

Abstract Acrylic Painting ~ Rainbow Pour Painting

Today let’s have some fun and create RAINBOW on Black & White Base Fluid Art. My creative friends welcome the new acrylic pouring video! This time let’s have some fun with rainbow colors, and to try something new I want to work on a black and white color split base and 12 by 36 canvas. This is a very neat size.

I think it’s really cool when there is a narrow wall between the windows or maybe over the couch or somewhere where there is a narrow space the size is super duper cool. So I’m gonna do a color split for my black and white. Like this: bottom black, top white, a burst of rainbow colors in between. And if some parts of my base are not going to be an exactly straight line that’s totally cool.

Acrylic Pouring RECIPE used for today’s flow art painting:

Acrylic paint is mixed with water only to a fluid consistency. I add approximately 30-50% of water to my colors. There is no exact % or proportion because this ratio depends on initial paint viscosity, which significantly varies from brand to brand and even from color to color.

Because as I’m going to be blowing out colors in the center there’s still going to be some part of it that’s gonna go towards one side or another. So we really don’t need to focus here on the straight-line border between the colors. So I’m going to start adding colors with green, actually because this is going to be my center. I’m going to know where the center is, and I want to actually not add them in line. Some colors I will add inside of the dark part and others inside of white.

Let’s see how it turns out. Let’s get started.

I think this fluid painting is pretty awesome. I love it. Wow, it’s even better than what I imagined. The top part, it’s probably my favorite part. Look at this beautiful transparency! It’s perfect. And I also really like a black part that creates a sort of separation and really emphasizes the overlap effect. And as we go down – I love little pops of gold, and I really like each part has so many beautiful details in my turquoise it goes towards the green. The bottom part with violet color looks so much like an orchid flower. And I wanted to show you the sides of this pour painting. So, I added a little bit more paint on the sides because when the drips are just thin lines it doesn’t look so beautiful. So I added a little bit more paint so my sides and this one look like they continue the design.

I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
