Dream Flow -

Mixed Media Abstract Art ❤️

Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby

Beautiful Dutch Pour Acrylic Pouring | Color Split Season Art

Welcome to the new Dream Flow – Mixed Media Abstract Art tutorial. This time, I want to create pour painting with the colors of the season. And as the most colorful time of the year unrolls, I want to create a flow painting with a lot of copper, gold, and orange, and some reds. So this is going to be a flow on this pretty big canvas 18 by 24. I’m going to work on the color split base.

This is going to be magenta and prussian blue, which is going to look pretty much like black when it’s dry. So this is going to be a perfect, very contrasty, very vibrant color combination for autumn painting. I also want to use a ring to give my flow a twist literally. “Beauty of letting go” is a secret message for this abstract art idea, a pretty long one, but I think it’s a beautiful double-meaning message.

Acrylic Pouring RECIPE used for today’s flow art painting:

Acrylic paint is mixed with water only to a fluid consistency. I add approximately 30-50% of water to my colors. There is no exact % or proportion because this ratio depends on initial paint viscosity, which significantly varies from brand to brand and even from color to color.

It’s perfect for the season and it’s a good reminder for yourself as well. I have already painted the sides because both: prussian blue and permanent magenta which I’m going to be using for my color split, are very transparent, and I’m working on canvas, so I want to have my sides painted. And if I just let paint mixed with water go down the side the sides will not be perfectly covered, it’s not going to look very pretty. So when working with transparent colors, especially, with the paint and water mixture I recommend you to paint the sides first, if you’re also working on canvas.

Let’s see how this creative mixed media idea turned out. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Here this acrylic pour painting is dry, and finished with a layer of glossy varnish, and it’s so beautiful. I love how this fluid art idea turned out. Also, I’ve done a few touch-ups, and a little bit of the color from underneath is shining through in the center, but it’s honestly so much better this way and it definitely makes a super bright focal point. And adding those lines and you know these soft lines with this sort of droplet-shaped, they give this fluid painting elegance and you know even this dreamy look. But at the same time because they’re so contrasty, and it’s white, it’s the brightest part, it’s the most contrasting spot. It makes such a perfect focal point. So I’m happy that I did these little touch-ups in this area. There are so many gorgeous details in this abstract painting and I especially love how colors blend into my magenta sides, it is stunning.

I hope you enjoyed this acrylic pouring tutorial and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
