Black and White Color Split

Diptych Fluid Painting - Abstract Art - Breaking through the limits

Let’s create a Black and White Color Split Acrylic Pouring in today’s tutorial. “Unity of opposites” is the secret message for this pour painting. I want today’s piece to be bright, bold, and beautiful. This is diptych. Two panels, each one is 12 by 24 inches, and one is going to be white, another one is going to be black. And I want to add some beautiful red design to these two panels.

It’s going to be very contrasting, one of the most contrasting color combinations: black, white, and red. And it’s gonna be part of the “Breaking through the limits” series, but I want to give it a new twist today with the ring.

Acrylic Pouring RECIPE used for today’s flow art painting:

Acrylic paint is mixed with water only to a fluid consistency. I add approximately 30-50% of water to my colors. There is no exact % or proportion because this ratio depends on initial paint viscosity, which significantly varies from brand to brand and even from color to color.

I want to use it in a bit different way. I’m going to use a huge lid to create a ring, and I’m really into Yin Yang designs as a concept for my composition. You know I use it a lot in many of my paintings. So this time, I’m gonna implement some Yin Yang in this pour painting again. I’m gonna create a red ring. I will spin it to really intermix some of the white and dark colors, but I’m not gonna have any flow go through the ring. It’s gonna be just on the outer edge of it. All round objects in my home are not safe anymore. They are all in danger of being dipped in paint and used for making a fluid painting for “Breaking through the limit series”.

I’m gonna dip my huge lid in paint and spin, spin, spin it. I hope that some of the white will get into the black, black into the white. I’m not 100% sure it happens. Let’s see how that works.

Wow! This painting has got: the contrast, gorgeous cells, and lacing, beautiful, striking colors, and very modern look, and, of course, not to mention the ring, the “Breaking through the limits” ring. So, I think this diptych has sort of a combination of oriental vibe and modern look. So, it’s modern-oriental. That’s how it looks to me.

And I have worked on the center a little more, added a few details, and worked on the ring itself a bit more, and of course, I covered this beauty with epoxy resin for a glass-like shiny finish.

I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
